Director of Strategy and Operations (Transportation)

Location: Rochester, MN; must be local or willing to relocate

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year, excluding equity or variable pay

What you will do

• Manage the on-site daily operations of the Rochester transit service.
• Prioritize real-time operational issues for drivers and dispatchers and develop scheduling solutions for a round-the-clock team.
• Lead, coach, and develop drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and other on-the-ground staff.
• Build relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, local organizations, senior management, and external partners.
• Define team metrics, track KPIs, prepare reports, and analyze operational data.
• Improve processes, allocate resources efficiently, maximize customer satisfaction, and ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of operations management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Local to Rochester, MN or willing to relocate there.
• Extensive experience leading teams and developing people, including support teams.
• Strong communication, prioritization, delegation, problem-solving, and execution skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
