Distinguished Engineer, Core DevOps (AI)

Location: Remote in Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States

Salary: $250,000–$349,000 USD per year for United States residents

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for CI, CD, Plan, and source code experiences across Core DevOps.
• Translate company-wide productivity, quality, and AI-native engineering goals into technical roadmaps and measurable service standards.
• Identify and retire systemic risks, including single points of failure, brittle coupling, scaling limits, and unowned critical paths.
• Lead complex architecture decisions through hands-on coding, prototypes, proofs of concept, design reviews, and migration planning.
• Ensure reliable operation across hirify.global.com, hirify.global Dedicated, and Self-Managed deployments while respecting multi-tenant, compliance, and data governance boundaries.
• Mentor Principal and Staff Engineers, partner with Infrastructure, Security, SRE, and Product, and participate in incident on-call and technical interviewing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in a Staff, Principal, or equivalent senior technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise in AI and ML systems, including large language models, agentic frameworks, and autonomous workflows at production scale.
• Experience with evaluation frameworks, benchmarking, scalable architecture decisions, distributed systems, service decomposition, fault tolerance, observability, and operational resilience.
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop controls, safety guardrails, and responsible AI practices for production systems.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical direction across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Ability to work remotely from Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States, with excellent written and asynchronous communication skills.
