Director, Solutions Architecture (AI)

Location: Hybrid, full-time role based out of the San Francisco hub, United States

Salary: SF OTE $300,000–$353,000 annually, plus equity

Writer develops an enterprise generative AI platform that enables companies to build and deploy AI agents grounded in their business data and powered by enterprise-grade large language models.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of solutions architects across complex enterprise AI engagements.
• Oversee technical pre-sales engagements, including use-case discovery, proof-of-concept execution, platform adoption, and value realization.
• Partner with sales and go-to-market leadership on account plans, technical value propositions, and pipeline growth.
• Serve as an executive technical sponsor for strategic accounts and advise C-level stakeholders on AI strategy and implementation.
• Architect scalable and secure AI solutions integrated with enterprise data ecosystems and existing technology stacks.
• Improve customer evaluation and proof-of-concept practices while sharing market insights to influence the product roadmap.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, including 4 years managing pre-sales or solutions architecture teams.
• Experience leading and scaling solutions architecture or sales engineering organizations in enterprise software, cloud, or AI.
• Deep knowledge of generative AI, large language models, machine learning, and cloud-native architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
• Experience managing AI/ML implementations involving data pipelines, model deployment, security, compliance, and large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, strategic planning, mentoring, and executive stakeholder management skills.
