Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Kent, Washington, United States. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $134,434–$188,207 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Establish manufacturing concepts, DFM strategies, production methods, equipment selection, and build sequences for rocket-engine hardware.
• Support facility layout and planning, purchase capital equipment, and lead equipment installation, integration, and qualification.
• Design tooling and fixtures for machining, welding, assembly, handling, and transport.
• Lead process qualification with Materials & Processes and Quality teams, including supplier processes, capability studies, and first article inspections.
• Author routings, work instructions, process specifications, and manufacturing bills of material.
• Own hardware delivery, build cycle time, yield, rate readiness, configuration tracking, nonconformance disposition, rework, and repair.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, tolerance stack analysis, and dimensional inspection using CMM, Faro Arm, Blue Light Scan, and manual inspection.
• Hands-on ownership of build and assembly processes on the manufacturing floor.
• Proficiency with CAD and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience evaluating nonconforming hardware and developing rework or repair plans.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of hands-on hardware manufacturing experience across machining, additive manufacturing, welding, brazing, forming, casting, forging, cleaning, nondestructive testing, precision assembly, and acceptance testing.
• Experience establishing factories or production lines and transferring qualified processes between sites.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through first article, qualification, and repeatable production at rate.
• Proficiency with PLM, MES, Siemens-based CAM, or machine languages.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and procuring manufacturing and assembly tooling.
