Director, People Business Partners (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at the Long Beach location. Travel to other hirify.global locations and flexible hours for critical mission milestones and international offices may be required.

Salary: $184,000–$275,000 USD annually, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Define and own the People Business Partner strategy, operating model, service standards, coverage, and escalation paths.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately seven People Business Partners.
• Advise executive leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, talent management, and change leadership.
• Drive performance management, goal setting, compensation cycles, succession planning, engagement initiatives, and people analytics.
• Design people practices for teams across California, Houston, Washington, D.C., Japan, and France, partnering with Legal, People Operations, and local leadership.
• Build scalable HR workflows and support the growth of Haven space stations, hirify.global Satellite, and future product lines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 6+ years supporting senior and executive leaders as a Business Partner.
• 5+ years of directly managing and developing HR Business Partners.
• Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, significant change, performance management, talent management, compensation planning, and employee relations.
• Experience in a startup, fast-paced, high-growth, hardware, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of California wage and hour and employment law.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing due to U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex hardware manufacturing.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or operations-heavy groups with large hourly workforces across multiple sites.
• Experience scaling an HR Business Partner team and operating model during rapid growth.
• International HR experience and knowledge of HR systems and people analytics tools.
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification.
