Senior Technician, Engine Build (Automotive)

Location: Costa Mesa, California, United States; onsite engine-build role

Annual base salary: $86,300–$140,300

What you will do

• Assemble components, sub-assemblies, cylinder heads, and complete high-performance racing engines according to engineering specifications.
• Record component data and engine-build records in electronic build systems.
• Review build specifications and identify discrepancies, quality risks, and process-improvement opportunities.
• Apply technical expertise to troubleshoot complex engine-build issues and ensure precision workmanship.
• Mentor and guide technicians on technical standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
• Lead special projects and improve workflows to support on-time engine-build completion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of experience in a racing engine environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with engine-build tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of internal combustion engine design, race-engine assembly, and performance validation.
• Hands-on experience building engines, cylinder heads, and sub-assemblies, with strong attention to detail in assembly and documentation.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate, train technicians, and use documentation software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
