Senior Calibration Engineer - Engine (Automotive)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid with reporting to the specific location at least 3 times per week

What you will do

• Calibrate and release engine systems, software, and algorithms to meet customer, performance, and program requirements.
• Author and improve documented calibration procedures, including standard work for new technologies.
• Design and manage strategic interfaces across vehicle calibration and engine controls.
• Develop requirements, support root cause analysis, and lead troubleshooting for complex system issues across programs.
• Capture and analyze empirical data, identify calibration vulnerabilities, and track mitigation and corrective actions.
• Support and train calibration engineers while collaborating with vehicle platform, engine hardware, manufacturing, and quality stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of technical and/or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis for complex problems.
• Knowledge of powertrain systems and engineering theory governing mechanical and electrical mechanisms.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate test vehicles.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available; candidates must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience with in-vehicle testing.
• DRE experience.
• Experience with INCA/ETAS data acquisition.
• Automotive OEM experience.
