Senior Software Developer (Applied AI)

Location: Remote within Canada; occasional travel for in-person company-wide or departmental meetings, typically 1–2 times per year.

Base salary: $103,000–$160,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal pay equity.

What you will do

• Build and evolve the Agentic SDLC framework, including agent workflows, orchestration templates, and reusable components.
• Design, implement, and operate MCP servers and integrations with core systems using versioning, testing, monitoring, and least-privilege permissions.
• Develop evaluation harnesses, regression suites, CI quality gates, and scoring infrastructure for agent workflows.
• Implement observability for token spend, latency, evaluation pass rates, usage, and workflow-level cost and quality metrics.
• Build permissioning, audit trails, versioning, output controls, skill libraries, onboarding flows, and self-service AI tooling.
• Work with the Technical Product Manager and a small autonomous pod to own architecture, implementation, and operational reliability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience shipping production software systems.
• 1–2 years of experience building LLM-powered or agentic systems used by real users.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, API design, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks or coding agents, MCP or comparable tool protocols, structured outputs, and eval-driven development.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small pod and improve the throughput of other engineering teams.
• Must be located in Canada for this remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated or public-sector software and auditable, defensible AI outputs.
• DevOps, platform engineering, or internal developer platform ownership experience.
• Experience optimizing LLM cost and quality at scale through model routing, caching, prompt compression, or fine-tuning.
