Wet Process Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Salary: $106,600–$142,100 per year

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and sustain wet etch, snow, liftoff, and electroplating processes in high-volume wafer manufacturing.
• Perform failure analysis on defective wafers, disposition held wafers, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive yield, cost, and cycle-time improvements.
• Evaluate and qualify new equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Implement and optimize APC, SPC, and other process-control schemes.
• Document processes and train manufacturing personnel while collaborating with engineers, technicians, equipment specialists, and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience, or a master’s degree, in chemical engineering, materials science, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microfabrication, research laboratories, or another technology-focused environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data interpretation and trend identification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, SQL, Minitab, SAS, or MATLAB.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience in semiconductor processing or wafer fabrication.
• Familiarity with cleanrooms, wet chemical etch, photoresist stripping, liftoff, and electroplating.
• Experience with DOE, SPC, and APC.
