Senior Water & Wastewater Treatment Engineer

Location: Phoenix, Arizona; hybrid work between office and field environments

What you will do

• Serve as Project Manager and/or Technical Lead for water and wastewater treatment facility projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Plan, design, and evaluate new treatment plants, expansions, and rehabilitation projects.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, feasibility studies, process calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical leadership across filtration, disinfection, biological treatment, solids handling, odor control, and residuals management.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation and controls disciplines to deliver constructible solutions.
• Manage client relationships, support proposals and project pursuits, mentor engineers, and contribute to quality assurance and quality control.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive water and/or wastewater treatment engineering experience, including facility design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Experience managing engineering projects and leading technical teams through design and construction.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office and field environment in Phoenix, Arizona, including occasional construction, weather, noise, and water-related hazards.

Nice to have

• Experience with treatment process modeling, permitting, and regulatory coordination.
• Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater standards and best practices.
• Experience supporting business development and long-term client relationships.
