Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment): Providing onsite installation, repair, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Cymer DUV laser and semiconductor manufacturing equipment with an accent on customer-site support, equipment debugging, and cleanroom operations. Focus on resolving complex technical issues, supporting installations across customer sites, and maintaining reliable operation during night-shift service coverage.

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; onsite customer-site support with night-shift coverage and flexibility to work all four shifts

hirify.global designs, develops, manufactures, and services lithography machines and Cymer DUV laser systems used in semiconductor chip production.

What you will do

  • Analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, install, repair, retrofit, upgrade, and maintain Cymer equipment at customer sites.
  • Support equipment receipt, installation, testing, commissioning, and operational activities.
  • Maintain an assigned equipment base, provide primary customer support, forecast service needs, and conduct customer support meetings.
  • Provide service education to customer operations and service staff and guide customers in system operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure required parts and tools are available and complete service, expense, and technical reports.
  • Travel to customer, regional, and overseas sites for service activities and special technical-support projects.

Requirements

  • At least three years of field service engineering or relevant work experience.
  • High school education or equivalent; college, military, or vocational experience is beneficial.
  • Intermediate electronics knowledge, ability to read opto-mechanical and electronic schematics, and experience with technical troubleshooting and data analysis.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email systems, LabVIEW, and internet tools.
  • English communication skills are required.
  • Must meet customer-site access requirements, including background checks, safety training, cleanroom access, and use of gowning and breathing apparatus; legal authorization to access controlled technology is required before starting.

Nice to have

  • Experience with optics, lasers, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, laser systems, or vacuum systems.
  • Experience leading an installation or contributing significantly to installations at multiple sites.
