Director, Carrier Development (Logistics)

What you will do

• Own the strategic evolution, capacity procurement, and growth of the carrier network across Truckload, LTL, and Intermodal.
• Develop strategic partnerships with existing carriers, align marketplace volume with carrier objectives, and secure dedicated long-term capacity.
• Lead, mentor, and scale Carrier Development Managers across strategic hubs.
• Build supply strategies, marketplace roadmaps, and joint business plans aligned with financial and marketplace goals.
• Translate shipper demand and commercial pipeline insights into carrier development and capacity sourcing strategies.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Operations, Product, and Engineering to improve carrier integration, booking adoption, and network efficiency.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, 3PL, digital brokerage, supply chain procurement, or carrier management.
• 5+ years of direct people-management experience leading high-performing teams, including Carrier Development Managers, relationship managers, or carrier procurement professionals.
• Deep knowledge of North American carrier operations, cost drivers, supply economics, and market cycles.
• Experience managing executive-level carrier relationships and joint business planning.
• Experience across multiple transportation sectors, including Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Bulk, or Flatbed.
• Advanced proficiency with data-analytics tools such as Tableau, SQL, or Google Workspace.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a highly analytical field.
• Experience identifying network synergies, improving asset utilization, and navigating matrixed organizations.
