Senior Software Engineer II (Data Lakehouse)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work

Salary: CA$186,838–CA$334,740 per year. Expected on-target earnings: CA$205,600–CA$366,000 per year, including bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Build foundational infrastructure and tools for the Data Lakehouse team.
• Enable internal teams and external customers to store, query, and analyze data at petabyte scale.
• Manage event data across Snowflake, ClickHouse, Databricks, and related data platforms.
• Develop scalable backend services and end-to-end product features, including front-end experiences.
• Build automated data pipelines, asynchronous processing, and ETL applications.
• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to technical strategy.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack development experience with a strong focus on scalable web applications.
• Experience building automated data pipelines, asynchronous processing, or ETL applications using tools such as Kafka, Airflow, Sidekiq, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Technical leadership experience, including driving architectural decisions and technical strategy.
• Strong understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience working in an agile team with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn the technologies needed to deliver customer-facing solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience building software at scale with high volumes of data and traffic.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Snowflake, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with modern data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics.
• Experience with agile processes and incremental delivery of high-quality software.
