Data Engineer (EU) (FinTech)

Location: EU; eligible countries include Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Fully remote, office-based, or hybrid work is available.

Salary: EUR 2,800–4,550 per month gross. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable data solutions for the Enterprise Data & Analytics Mesh platform.
• Develop ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines across Sapiens, IRIS, and other enterprise sources using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake.
• Implement medallion architecture, reusable engineering patterns, curated datasets, and trusted analytical data products.
• Build data transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, migration, monitoring, and automated data quality processes.
• Support regulatory and operational reporting while ensuring data accuracy, completeness, traceability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, and engineering teams; participate in technical design, code reviews, troubleshooting, production support, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in data engineering.
• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data pipelines, platforms, and reusable production-ready engineering frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake.
• Strong SQL, ETL/ELT, data integration, data quality, validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and modern data platform design skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, data governance, metadata, lineage, security, access control, and Agile delivery.
• English at Intermediate+ level or above. Ability to collaborate with business analysts, architects, data analysts, and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Fabric Data Factory, Lakehouse, Fabric Data Engineering, Sapiens, or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience migrating legacy reporting platforms to modern cloud data platforms.
• Background in retail, financial services, insurance, regulated industries, regulatory reporting, or audit requirements.
• Experience with Data Mesh, event-driven or real-time integration, infrastructure-as-code, cloud automation, Power BI, or semantic modelling.
• Experience with AI-assisted software engineering, agentic AI, or AI tooling for requirements, coding, testing, documentation, and deployment.
