Data Engineer (Azure)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or office-based within Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, or the United Kingdom.

Salary: €2,800–€4,550 gross per month, depending on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable data solutions for an enterprise data and analytics platform.
• Develop ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines across Sapiens, IRIS, and other enterprise sources using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake.
• Implement medallion architecture, reusable engineering patterns, curated datasets, and analytical data products.
• Build data transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, migration, and automated data quality processes.
• Support regulatory and operational reporting with accurate, traceable, secure, and performant data.
• Implement monitoring, logging, CI/CD, governance, lineage, metadata, security, and engineering automation while contributing to technical design, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data pipelines, data platforms, ETL/ELT frameworks, and cloud data solutions.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Apache Spark, plus strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and SQL.
• Knowledge of medallion architecture, Data Vault, Kimball dimensional modeling, data quality, monitoring, governance, metadata, lineage, security, and access control.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, Agile delivery, and collaboration with analysts, architects, and other technical stakeholders.
• English at Intermediate+ level or above is required.

Nice to have

• Microsoft DP-700, Fabric Data Engineering, or Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification.
• Experience with Fabric Data Factory, Lakehouse, Sapiens, legacy reporting migration, regulatory reporting, or regulated industries.
• Experience with Data Mesh, event-driven integration, infrastructure as code, Power BI, AI-assisted engineering, or agentic AI solutions.
