Director of Business Operations (AI)

Location: On-site five days a week in the SoHo NYC or San Francisco office

Base compensation: $170,000–$220,000 per year plus competitive equity

Hebbia develops Matrix, an AI platform for investors and bankers that supports AI-driven analysis and investment decisions.

What you will do

• Lead board preparation end to end, including the operating narrative, metrics, inputs, deck, decisions, and ownership.
• Own pricing and consumption economics, including cost-to-serve, margins, packaging, rate cards, deal rules, discounting, and renewal migration.
• Analyze revenue and go-to-market decisions across pipeline coverage, quota and capacity scenarios, account economics, and investment tradeoffs.
• Run annual and quarterly company planning, including headcount, targets, QBRs, plan versus actuals, spend, burn, and run rate.
• Lead strategic analyses and cross-functional projects such as deal economics, ABM investment choices, build-versus-buy decisions, and pricing experiments.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, and GTM to turn analysis into pricing, planning, and resource-allocation decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience across strategic finance, business operations, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy, including startup operating experience.
• Experience personally leading board preparation, building operating narratives and metrics, and presenting an accurate business view with Finance.
• Experience with pricing and packaging decisions, usage and customer-value analysis, financial modeling, P&L, unit economics, burn, run rate, and resource allocation.
• Ability to operate as the sole owner in a high-ambiguity environment and reprioritize as business needs change.
• Credibility with Sales, Finance, and Product, including comfort speaking directly with customers about pricing and commercial needs.
• Deep AI curiosity is required, with regular use of AI tools to improve work.
