Senior Medical Science Liaison (Rheumatology)

Location: United States; field-based territory covering Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, with up to 70% travel. Preferred metro areas include Columbus, Cleveland, and Syracuse.

Base pay: $137,000–$235,750 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs priorities and approved medical assets.
• Build professional relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and community providers.
• Deliver objective, non-promotional scientific education and translate complex clinical evidence into meaningful discussions.
• Collect actionable insights on treatment trends, unmet needs, risks, and educational gaps to inform medical strategy.
• Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies and respond to unsolicited clinical and research inquiries.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, clinical operations, and other cross-functional partners while maintaining compliance.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience for doctoral candidates and at least 2 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated MSL success.
• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise in research, data analysis, clinical practice, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
• Ability to support the defined U.S. territory with up to 70% travel.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.
