Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology - South Texas/New Mexico/Louisiana

Location: Houston, Texas, United States, supporting the South Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana territory; up to 70% travel required and a valid US driver's license is required.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and territory objectives.
• Build relationships with community and academic key opinion leaders and conduct two-way, non-promotional scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals.
• Present clinical data, translate complex evidence into meaningful scientific discussions, and respond to unsolicited product and research inquiries.
• Collect, synthesize, and submit actionable clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory insights.
• Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies while coordinating with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Operations, and field partners.
• Maintain scientific, regulatory, compliance, documentation, and expense-reporting standards, using AI tools to improve decision-making and efficiency.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience is required for doctoral-level candidates, with therapeutic-area clinical experience preferred.
• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge, research or healthcare-system knowledge, and clinical expertise.
• Demonstrated data gathering and analysis, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, strategic thinking, competitive landscape analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to support the assigned territory with up to 70% travel.
• Valid US driver's license required.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an MSL role.
• 2+ years of rheumatology or related therapeutic-area experience.
• Residency or fellowship experience and board certification for clinical degrees.
• Experience exploring and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
• Location in a major metropolitan area, preferably Houston.
