Per Diem Staff Nurse - Merrimack Valley (Oncology)

Location: 5 Branch St, Methuen, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $38.21–$80.50 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to oncology and hematology patients and their families.
• Assess patient needs, develop care plans, evaluate outcomes, and document care.
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, medications, infusions, blood transfusions, and supportive treatments.
• Provide patient and family education, symptom management, psychosocial support, and telephone triage.
• Perform IV therapy, including peripheral and central venous access, and safely handle hazardous and cytotoxic agents.
• Coordinate referrals, continuity of care, multidisciplinary collaboration, charge capture, and patient flow.

Requirements

• Active registered nurse license in Massachusetts or New Hampshire, as appropriate.
• At least one year of recent RN experience or completion of the Oncology Nurse Residency Program.
• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS is accepted as the minimum requirement.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred; associate degree holders must complete a BSN within four years.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English and perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Critical thinking, independent decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ability to work with complex patient needs.

Nice to have

• Ambulatory or oncology nursing experience.
• IV skills.
• Professional certification such as OCN, BMTCN, CPHON, AOCNP, CRNI, or RN-BC.
