Crop Insurance Adjuster

Location: Remote from California, covering the San Joaquin Valley; regular field work and travel of up to 75% required

Salary: $43,000–$100,000 annually, depending on geographic location, qualifications, experience, education, and skills.

What you will do

• Contact policyholders after farm or ranch losses and manage claims through settlement.
• Conduct field inspections, read maps and aerial photographs, measure fields and storage bins, and collect production records.
• Assess damage and loss percentages, determine causes, and exercise independent judgment in claim handling.
• Explain regulations and procedures to claimants, agents, and industry contacts.
• Apply RMA rules, hirify.global procedures, and regulations for Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Crop Hail, and Named Peril policies.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Area Claims Supervisor and communicate developments in specialty crops and coverage programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Crop insurance claims or compliance experience, or an agriculture-related background.
• Analytical skills, attention to detail, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Basic computer and internet application skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel, including work on farms, rough terrain, and grain bins.

Nice to have

• Completed Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program certification and/or applicable state licenses.
