Outside Auto Appraiser

Location: New York City area; the selected candidate must reside in the assigned territory or be willing to relocate there at their own expense. The role combines remote work from a residence or hirify.global office with mobile work at residential, commercial, body shop, and customer locations.

Annual base salary: $63,800–$105,400.

What you will do

• Inspect and assess vehicle damage through virtual and on-site inspections at body shops and customer locations.
• Prepare repair estimates covering parts, labor, and materials using industry-standard estimating software.
• Evaluate total-loss vehicles and determine actual cash value through market research, comparable vehicle analysis, and valuation tools.
• Review estimates, authorize supplements, negotiate repair costs, and collaborate with repair facilities, vendors, claim representatives, customers, and third-party claimants.
• Identify pre-existing damage, prior repairs, and potential fraud indicators while maintaining accurate claim documentation.
• Explain the appraisal process, support customers throughout the claim lifecycle, and adapt to new digital tools and AI-related technology implementations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of auto physical damage appraisal or comparable claims experience, or successful completion of the required hirify.global Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver's license and an active adjuster license where applicable.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, along with two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience for the ideal candidate.
• Proficiency with claims management and estimating software, Microsoft Office, and enterprise technology systems.
• Strong communication, customer service, judgment, organization, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
