Project Engineer (Refining)

Location: Garyville, Louisiana, United States. Relocation is available.

What you will do

• Manage capital and expense projects through development, justification, design, construction, and start-up.
• Prepare decision support packages, project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and delay-mitigation strategies.
• Manage multiple projects safely, efficiently, and within budget, with typical project values ranging from $20,000 to $5,000,000.
• Provide mechanical support, troubleshooting, and turnaround assistance to refinery area teams.
• Coordinate with consultants, designers, Maintenance, Construction, Turnaround teams, and other project stakeholders.
• Participate in HAZOP reviews and incident investigations while maintaining MOC, PSI, mechanical integrity, safety, environmental, and permitting compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• At least two years of industry experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to apply engineering codes, specifications, safety standards, and environmental requirements to project designs.
• Project management, critical thinking, decision-making, communication, adaptability, and technical knowledge.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of post-degree engineering experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
