Field Technician

Location: Newark, Ohio; must live within 25 miles and 30 minutes of 935 Buckeye Avenue, Newark, OH 43058

Salary: $34.62–$38.01 per hour

What you will do

• Install, repair, and replace distribution facilities, including main lines and customer services.
• Operate light earth-moving and construction equipment such as backhoes, side booms, tampers, and hydra-cranes.
• Maintain, clean, grease, lubricate, and transport equipment and materials.
• Support residential and commercial customers and respond to emergency calls.
• Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including emergency response during storms and other events.

Requirements

• Entry-level mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and interpret gauges and dials.
• Ability to obtain a valid Ohio operator's license, commercial driver's license, and required DOT/Ohio Motor Carrier Safety certification within three months.
• Basic math, legible recordkeeping, and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team, meet deadlines, maintain reliable attendance, work in all weather conditions, and wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements for pipeline safety and underground construction practices.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Must pass attitude, aptitude, physical capability, drug, motor vehicle record, and background assessments.

Nice to have

• Plumbing trade experience with natural gas.
