Field/Service Technician (Natural Gas)

Location: Cambridge MOD, 98 Steubenville Ave, Cambridge, OH 43725; must live within 25 miles and 30 minutes of the reporting location

What you will do

• Install, repair, and replace gas distribution mains, services, meters, regulators, and related facilities.
• Operate, transport, and maintain construction equipment, including backhoes, side booms, tampers, and hydra-cranes.
• Inspect and test service lines, house lines, gas appliances, and distribution facilities for leaks.
• Investigate gas service issues, including outages, gas odors, leaks, fires, explosions, and high bills.
• Read meters, turn customer gas service on or off, collect delinquent bills, and repair curb boxes.
• Advise plumbers, contractors, and customers on service and house line installations and support emergency response efforts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude, hand-tool proficiency, and the ability to read gauges and dials, perform basic calculations, and maintain clear records.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, respond to emergency calls, work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and operate in all weather conditions.
• Ability to become certified to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and pass physical capability assessments.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements for pipeline safety and underground construction practices.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship and must meet the Cambridge-area living requirement.

Nice to have

• Plumbing trade experience with natural gas experience.
• Current OQ plumbing qualifications.
• Additional experience reading and interpreting gauges and dials.
