Field/Service Techncian

Location: Must live within 25 miles and 30 minutes of 540 Clow Lane, Coshocton, Ohio, or 2429 North Linden Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio.

Salary: $35.94–$39.33 per hour

What you will do

• Install, repair, replace, operate, and maintain natural gas distribution facilities and construction equipment.
• Install and remove gas meters, meter settings, regulators, and service lines.
• Inspect and test house lines, appliances, and gas facilities for leaks using gauges and detection instruments.
• Investigate gas emergencies and service inquiries, including leaks, gas odors, no-gas situations, fires, explosions, and high bills.
• Operate, maintain, and transport light earth-moving equipment and materials.
• Read meters, operate curb boxes, turn customer gas service on or off, collect delinquent bills, and advise plumbers and contractors on installations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude, hand-tool skills, basic mathematics, and the ability to read gauges and dials.
• Ability to communicate clearly, prepare legible records, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and pass physical capability assessments.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Must meet the area-specific living requirement and be available for emergency calls, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and work in all weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Plumbing trade experience, particularly natural gas experience.
• Current Operator Qualification plumbing qualifications.
• Experience interpreting gauges and dials.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements for pipeline safety and underground construction.

Hiring process

• Complete an attitude assessment, aptitude testing, physical capability assessment, drug screen, motor vehicle record screen, and background report.
• Progress to Field/Service Technician 2 after two years and completion of required training and Operator Qualifications.
