Commercial Underwriter (Commercial Banking)

Location: Fully onsite in Spokane, Washington at 111 N Wall St Building, Spokane, WA 99201.

Salary: $61,000–$95,000 annually, with potential performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal commercial and industrial, commercial real estate, working capital, asset-based, and equipment financing requests.
• Analyze business, industry, financial, and credit data to identify repayment risks and support credit recommendations.
• Prepare quantitative underwriting narratives, risk ratings, loan coding, and exception mitigation documentation.
• Monitor borrower financial performance, spread financial statements, calculate covenants, and resolve reporting or approval violations.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, client solutions managers, relationship managers, and customers on credit structures and financial needs.
• Review other underwriters’ work, provide quality-control feedback, and coach or train colleagues when needed.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or relevant lending experience.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, credit quality, accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices, documentation, and applicable banking regulations.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related business software.
• Ability to work fully onsite at the Spokane, Washington location.
