What you will do

• Underwrite business banking loans and determine borrower creditworthiness in accordance with bank lending policy.
• Review financial statements, credit applications, and other information to make sound credit decisions.
• Handle complex credit structures and customer exposures of up to $4MM.
• Manage an individual underwriting pipeline and support business banking production.
• Exercise single approval authority for credits up to $3MM.
• Train and mentor new hires while supporting Underwriter I and Underwriter II job families.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of business or commercial underwriting experience in a centralized lending environment.
• Ability to assess borrower risk and underwrite complex credit exposures.
• Ability to work independently across multiple tasks while maintaining quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based resources.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
• Experience supporting high loan volumes and underwriting exposures above $2.5MM.
• Previous authority to underwrite and approve credits without additional signers.
• Customer service focus, professionalism, confidence, and assertiveness.
