Business Banking Underwriter IV (Commercial Lending)

What you will do

• Underwrite business banking loans and review financial and credit application information.
• Make sound credit decisions for complex credit structures and customer exposures up to $10MM.
• Use single approval authority for credits up to $4MM and assess borrower risk profiles.
• Maintain an individual pipeline of underwriting work and support business banking production.
• Train and mentor new hires and support Underwriter I, II, and III job families.
• Represent the manager when needed and collaborate with credit and segment risk teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years of business or commercial underwriting experience in a centralized lending environment.
• Ability to underwrite complex commercial credit exposures and make decisions independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet resources.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
• 3–4 years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience underwriting credit exposures above $4MM and authority to approve credits without additional signers.
• Specialized experience in SBA, practice finance, agriculture, investment real estate, commercial, or middle-market underwriting, depending on the position.
