Chip Design Internship (Quantum Computing)

hirify.global Quantum Electronics develops quantum computing processors using nanofabrication, quantum electronics, and carbon nanotube science.

What you will do

• Simulate and compare on-chip component designs, investigate trade-offs, and compare predicted with measured performance.
• Help cycle the dilution refrigerator and coordinate measurement equipment for experiments at millikelvin temperatures.
• Perform measurements, log experimental data, and characterize component performance.
• Process, analyze, and visualize data while maintaining and improving Python analysis code.
• Document simulation methods, experimental procedures, code, and results to support reproducibility.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers across teams and communicate technical findings.

Requirements

• Currently completing or recently completed a master’s degree in physics, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in quantum physics, including coursework in Quantum Electromagnetism.
• Python programming skills and interest in experimental work, measurement equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Collaborative mindset, curiosity about quantum experimentation, and willingness to learn new methods in a start-up environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Quantum Information.
• Experience with circuit or electromagnetic simulation, electronic measurements, quantum devices, or cryogenic systems.
