R&D Intern (2027)

Location: Hybrid in Libertyville, Illinois, United States; interns must work from the office at least 4 days per week. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on education and skills.

What you will do

• Support formulation development by preparing and testing formulations under supervision.
• Conduct materials and formulation testing using established procedures.
• Assist with method development and validation for materials analysis.
• Prepare samples and support prototype development.
• Perform materials characterization, including physical and chemical property testing.
• Maintain experiment records, analyze data, manage laboratory equipment and inventory, and support safe laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience from coursework or academic projects.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Strong interest in materials testing and formulation.
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
