Research & Development Co-Op (Spring 2027)

Location: Fairport, NY, United States

Salary: $20.00–$30.00 per hour; full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Develop and improve automated tools using Python and scripting technologies.
• Support project management, process development, data analysis, and engineering improvement initiatives.
• Design and implement product licensing and generation systems used across Qualitrol technologies.
• Evaluate sensing technologies and contribute to product development projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to solve technical challenges.
• Research emerging technologies and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Expected graduation in 2027 or 2028.
• Interest in engineering, product development, automation, or applied research.
• Experience with or interest in Python programming and automation.
• Familiarity with data analysis, scripting, or engineering design projects.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with databases, software development, research laboratories, or product development projects.
• Leadership demonstrated through internships, research, student organizations, design teams, or extracurricular activities.
