Manufacturing Engineering 12 Month Placement Scheme (Marine)

Location: Wimborne, Dorset, United Kingdom; onsite placement beginning 5 July 2027

Salary: £26,000 per year, plus share scheme, pension, and 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

hirify.global manufactures construction and mining equipment, engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives, with the Wimborne facility focused on marine products.

What you will do

• Support the production of marine engines, generators, and associated equipment.
• Participate in new product introduction projects.
• Resolve production-related problems and support efficient, on-time production.
• Develop component and sub-assembly production routings.
• Learn and apply the hirify.global Production System.
• Collaborate with shop-floor operators, designers, and manufacturing engineering colleagues.

Requirements

• Be in the penultimate year of study, unless enrolled in an integrated master’s programme, to complete the 12-month placement commencing July 2027.
• Be on track to achieve at least a 2:1 honours degree in production, manufacturing, mechanical, automotive, or aerospace engineering.
• Demonstrate communication, presentation, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Be self-motivated, diligent, open-minded, adaptable, and able to learn quickly.
• Attend the placement at the Wimborne facility in the United Kingdom.
