Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology - South Atlantic

Location: Field-based Georgia/North Florida territory, with postings in Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; and Tampa, Florida. Up to 70% travel is required, and a valid US driver's license is mandatory.

What you will do

• Develop and execute scientific engagement plans aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and medical objectives.
• Build professional relationships with healthcare professionals, community and academic opinion leaders, and key opinion leaders.
• Conduct objective, non-promotional scientific exchanges and presentations on clinical evidence and relevant therapies.
• Collect, synthesize, and communicate clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-level insights.
• Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies by connecting investigators with internal research and grant processes.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Operations, global teams, and other internal stakeholders in a matrixed environment.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience for doctoral-level candidates, with scientific, therapeutic, research, or healthcare system knowledge.
• Capabilities in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, interpersonal influence, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.
• Ability to support the territory with up to 70% travel.
• Valid US driver's license required.
• Strong understanding of medical communications, compliance, regulations, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an MSL role.
• At least 2 years of rheumatology or related therapeutic-area experience.
• Residency or fellowship experience and board certification for clinical degrees.
• Experience exploring and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
• Located in a major metropolitan area; Orlando is preferred.
