CB&I designs and builds storage facilities, tanks, and terminals for energy infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Set up and operate oxy-fuel, plasma, and oxygen/acetylene cutting equipment on plate and structural steel.
• Use grinders, chipping guns, wire brushes, welding tools, and other hand and power tools to prepare and fit metals.
• Unload, move, rig, align, and tack-fit fabricated steel using hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and temporary erection equipment.
• Erect and dismantle temporary scaffolding and operate aerial and elevated work platforms.
• Perform equipment maintenance, clean work areas, and follow prescribed safety procedures.
• Carry out Safety/Firewatch duties as needed while working at heights of approximately 100 feet.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Phoenix, Arizona.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling, and standing.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools used in welding, including grinders, chipping hammers, arc welders, and oxygen/acetylene torches.
• Ability to set up and connect hoses, cords, and regulators and to read simple instructions and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving, accuracy, independent work, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use required protective equipment, including a hardhat, safety glasses, full-body harness, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and gloves.
