Manufacturing Team Leader

Location: Hitchin, UK; onsite manufacturing role

Crane Building Services and Utilities is part of Crane Co.'s Fluid Handling Division, designing and manufacturing engineered flow control solutions for HVAC and utility markets.

What you will do

• Lead the daily manufacturing plan against safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth targets.
• Plan and release work orders, monitor production performance, and resolve issues affecting customer delivery.
• Lead, motivate, train, and manage direct reports, including absence and disciplinary matters.
• Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive productivity improvements using Crane Business System tools.
• Coordinate production schedules, labour plans, raw materials, Kanban replenishment, inventory control, and shortage reporting.
• Work with supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams on materials, bills of materials, drawings, prototypes, refurbishment, and rework orders.

Requirements

• Formal qualification at least equivalent to Level 2 NVQ in first-line management and supervision.
• Formal Managing Safely qualification, such as IOSH.
• Understanding of work scheduling systems based on work orders or Kanban.
• Ability to use or learn computer-based MRP systems; QAD knowledge is preferred.
• Positive, hands-on, disciplined, adaptable, and team-oriented approach with effective influencing skills.
