Lead Engineer, Commissioning - Substations

Location: Hooksett, New Hampshire, United States. Work takes place in office and utility substation environments, with travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire and emergency storm assignments as required.

Annual salary: $140,650–$156,280, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans and procedures for complex transmission and distribution substation projects.
• Commission substation equipment, including breakers, transformers, controls, systems, relays, and metering.
• Coordinate with System Test, Protection & Controls Engineering, Engineering, operations, and Investment Planning.
• Perform root-cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and support responses to system failures and unplanned maintenance.
• Optimize asset cost, performance, reliability, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Supervise, coach, develop, assign, and review the work of engineers and other staff; assume project management duties when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 8–10 years of utility transmission and distribution engineering experience.
• Electrical engineering knowledge focused on substation project testing and commissioning.
• Valid CT/MA driver’s license.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship will not be considered.
• Availability for travel between MA/CT/NH, emergency storm assignments, and on-call responsibilities as required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
