Senior Manager - Electrical Engineering - Gas (Gas Generation)

Location: Remote/traveling; up to 25% travel to client offices and project sites required

What you will do

• Lead the electrical engineering program for gas generation facilities using reciprocating engines and aeroderivative gas turbines.
• Represent program engineering from proposal through construction completion and coordinate with clients, utilities, equipment suppliers, and balance-of-plant vendors.
• Own electrical design bases covering transformers, medium-voltage switchgear, protection and synchronizing, emergency power, grounding, lightning protection, cabling, raceways, and lighting.
• Direct electrical interfaces for fuel gas, cooling, water treatment, emissions control, fire protection, black start, and plant control systems.
• Scope and reconcile load flow, short-circuit, protective coordination, arc-flash, grounding, motor-starting, and generator-interconnection studies.
• Support constructability, startup, synchronization, performance testing, commissioning, root-cause analysis, and engineering team leadership.

Requirements

• Four-year electrical or mechanical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college.
• At least 5 years of progressive electrical engineering experience in gas power generation, including 2 or more years of leadership experience.
• Knowledge of reciprocating engines, aeroderivative gas turbines, balance-of-plant equipment, substations, and generator interconnection.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE standards, utility interconnection requirements, and power engineering analysis tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record required.
• Up to 25% travel is required, depending on project needs.

Nice to have

• Registered Professional Engineering license.
• Experience with overhead and underground construction, equipment sizing, power quality, and value engineering.
