Service Engineering Technician (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $35.75–$51.75 per hour, plus benefits

What you will do

• Develop and validate complex repair strategies for autonomous vehicle hardware.
• Perform diagnostics, testing, maintenance, repairs, and vehicle upgrades across mechanical and electrical components.
• Build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical testing across hardware, systems, and development teams.
• Assemble and fabricate prototype parts and jigs using drill presses, saws, and hand tools.
• Document findings, communicate technical data, escalate issues, and improve workshop standards and processes.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Operations, Software, Hardware, Systems, Reliability, Vehicle Integration, and Fleet Operations teams.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of OEM technician experience.
• 1–3 years of autonomous vehicle and/or electric vehicle experience.
• Strong diagnostic skills and experience using OEM diagnostic tools and methodologies.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical fabrication and complex component maintenance.
• Clear verbal and written communication, attention to detail, quality focus, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Prior experience with JIRA.

Nice to have

• Direct manufacturing and prototyping experience.
• Experience working with autonomous vehicles.
• Experience troubleshooting CAN bus issues.
