Controller (AI Healthcare)

Location: Palo Alto, United States — hybrid

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the monthly and quarterly financial close process and maintain accurate, well-documented actuals.
• Manage treasury operations, banking, runway, cash controls, payroll, vendor payments, and contractor payments.
• Maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and own SaaS revenue recognition.
• Manage Brex, expense reconciliation, accounting systems, and financial operations tooling.
• Build the feedback loop between forecasts and actuals, including variance analysis and risk escalation.
• Lead relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and accounting firms while supporting board reporting and investor diligence.

Requirements

• 8–10 years or equivalent experience in accounting or controllership, including experience at a high-growth startup.
• Strong foundation in public accounting or audit; CPA strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP fundamentals and ASC 606 in a SaaS or recurring-revenue environment.
• Experience building processes and documentation that support compliance, audit readiness, and investor diligence.
• Ability to design lean, scalable financial infrastructure and make sound build-versus-buy decisions.
• Collaborative, transparent communication style with proactive risk reporting.
