What you will do
- Serve trade and retail customers at the counter and provide product advice.
- Build relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities.
- Handle enquiries by phone, email and in person.
- Prepare quotes and process orders accurately and efficiently.
- Identify upselling opportunities and promote products and branch initiatives.
- Support day-to-day branch operations and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high service standards.
Requirements
- Experience in a builders' merchant, plumbing merchant, electrical wholesaler, civils supplier or trade counter environment.
- Confidence communicating with tradespeople and contractors in person and by phone.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify sales opportunities.
- Ownership, teamwork and willingness to support tasks across the branch.
