SVP, Head of AI Governance

Location: Stamford, Connecticut, United States; hybrid work with regular commuting to the nearest Hub for in-person meetings, training, and culture events.

Salary: $200,000–$330,000 USD annually, plus a 25% annual incentive target and a 25% annual equity target.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise AI Governance function, including its operating model, standards, controls, reporting, and oversight routines.
• Design and continuously improve AI governance frameworks covering intake, use-case registration, risk tiering, inventories, approvals, lifecycle gates, monitoring, recertification, and exceptions.
• Translate AI policies, standards, regulations, and risk frameworks into procedures, playbooks, controls, evidence routines, and governance artifacts.
• Partner with risk, compliance, legal, privacy, information security, model risk, supplier management, engineering, architecture, and technology teams.
• Prepare executive updates, regulatory materials, audit evidence, issue responses, remediation plans, and risk reporting for the Chief AI Officer and senior stakeholders.
• Deliver technical governance capabilities such as registries, gateways, policy enforcement, logging, monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, and evidence generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Experience leading governance, risk, control, compliance, or oversight programs in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of AI, generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, automation, data, technology platforms, and responsible AI.
• Experience designing or operating governance and control frameworks, lifecycle processes, risk-tiering models, approval workflows, inventories, monitoring, and assurance reporting.
• Experience working with second-line risk and compliance teams and third-line audit or assurance teams in a regulated environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, payments, credit, consumer finance, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with model risk, technology risk, operational risk, third-party risk, data governance, information security, privacy, compliance, or internal audit.
• Experience with GRC platforms, AI or model inventories, control repositories, workflow tools, reporting dashboards, SharePoint, Jira, ServiceNow, or Power BI.
• Experience building governance capabilities for generative AI, agentic AI, AI platforms, control planes, registries, evaluations, monitoring, logging, or policy enforcement.
