Vice President, Privacy & AI Governance (AI)

Location: United States; remote or hybrid candidates accepted, with an East Coast preference. Hybrid work is centered around the Charlotte, NC area office, and Eastern Standard Time hours are required.

Total cash compensation: $250,000–$300,000 per year, including target bonus. Equity is offered separately.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise privacy strategy across brands, businesses, and legal entities.
• Own the AI governance program, including risk classification, impact assessments, policies, documentation, oversight, and monitoring.
• Advise Product, Technology, Marketing, Legal, and business leaders on complex privacy, data-use, technology, and AI risks.
• Oversee privacy risk assessments, ROPA, privacy notices, contractual and data-processing requirements, and marketing compliance for email, cookies, telephone, and text communications.
• Monitor privacy, AI, consumer protection, and regulatory developments and translate them into company strategy, policies, and requirements.
• Lead and develop the privacy team, establish priorities, set metrics, and report on material risks and program effectiveness.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, regulatory compliance, technology law, AI governance, or a related field.
• Significant experience leading enterprise privacy programs and applying U.S. privacy and data protection requirements in complex, multi-business organizations.
• Experience advising senior Product, Technology, Marketing, Legal, or business leaders on complex risk and data-use decisions.
• Experience building privacy governance programs covering risk assessments, ROPA, policies, notices, contractual requirements, and controls.
• Strong knowledge of marketing and consumer communications compliance, including email, cookies and tracking technologies, TCPA, and related requirements.
• Previous people leadership experience, including talent development, delegation, priority setting, and performance management.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or leading an enterprise AI governance or responsible AI program.
• Experience in a multi-brand, technology, digital media, marketplace, or similarly complex organization.
• Familiarity with AI regulatory frameworks, algorithmic risk assessments, use-case classification, and emerging state, federal, and international AI requirements.
• Privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM.
• JD or another relevant advanced degree.
