Backend Engineer (AWS/Go)

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, robust software solutions with geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Enhance the platform so more business functionality can be driven through end-user configuration.
• Improve automation, deployment, scalability, and system resiliency on the cloud-native platform.
• Maintain and develop shared platform components and libraries using AWS, Go, Python, Erlang, and Kafka.
• Build observability tooling and infrastructure to improve understanding of system capabilities.
• Lead initiatives, collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and promote continuous engineering improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale production environment.
• Experience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software in an object-oriented or functional language.
• Experience with distributed systems, observability, cloud technologies, and automation.
• Strong focus on clean code, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
• Willingness to learn and work with Go, Python, Erlang, and Elixir.
• Interest in creating user-centric, data-driven solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services including CloudFormation, MSK, S3, and Cognito.
• Interest in functional programming and knowledge of Kafka.
• Front-end development experience with React or Vue.
