TL;DR
CNC Machinist (Lathe) 2nd Shift (Aerospace): Producing precision-machined aerospace parts by setting up and operating 4–5 axis CNC lathes while maintaining specifications, quality, and safety standards with an accent on precision measurement, tooling, and geometric dimensioning. Focus on troubleshooting machining problems, detecting tool wear and vibration, documenting shift handoffs, and ensuring conformance to manufacturing requirements.

Location: Burbank, California, United States; onsite, second shift Monday–Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Salary: $34.00–$46.50 per hour, plus a 10% second-shift differential after first-shift training.

  • Document completed actions and communicate outstanding steps to maintain continuity between shifts.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of CNC lathe machining experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with 4–5 axis CNC lathes; Swiss, Okuma, or Harding experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, height gages, safety procedures, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, cutting-tool geometry, and tooling coordination.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping, effective verbal and written communication, and the ability to work efficiently within process-improvement structures.
  • Only US Persons may be considered where the position requires access to controlled data or information under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Mazak, Fadal, Toyoda, Okuma, or Harding machines.
  • Understanding of CNC G-code, basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Strong teamwork skills.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a manufacturing environment using Lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance beginning the first day of the month after starting.
  • 15 days of paid time off accruing from the first day and 12 paid holidays annually.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Education reimbursement after six months of employment.
