Senior API/Java/Python Developer

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States. U.S. Person status is required, along with an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.

Salary: $116,000–$169,400 annually for the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with the range depending on experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable applications and APIs using Java and Python.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices, including third-party services.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to define requirements and integrate components.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply secure data-handling and API-authentication practices.
• Support cloud integrations and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements for existing applications and APIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience.
• U.S. Person status and an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django.
• Experience designing APIs and understanding REST, GraphQL, or SOAP, with tools such as Postman or Swagger UI.
• Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, Git, Agile or Scrum methodologies, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
