TL;DR
Installation Technician (Avionics): Installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and documenting advanced avionics systems for military and general aviation aircraft with an accent on aircraft maintenance, certification compliance, and FAA-regulated repair activities. Focus on diagnosing analog and digital avionics issues, integrating autopilot and EFIS systems, interpreting engineering documentation, and maintaining conformity and airworthiness records.

Location: Onsite in Mineral Wells, Texas, United States

Salary: $28.00–$40.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies in advanced analog and digital avionics systems.
  • Install avionics equipment and systems using approved engineering data, wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation documents.
  • Manage aircraft induction, inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, and documentation activities.
  • Inspect autopilot, EFIS, mechanical, and electrical installations for compliance with approved design data and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement and tracking of parts, components, brackets, and units required for repair and installation work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, installation, and conformity records while following safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in avionics, aviation maintenance, electronics technology, or a related field, or an FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
  • At least three years of avionics experience supporting general aviation and helicopter aircraft, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, test equipment, soldering equipment, and aircraft avionics installation and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of avionics integration, compatibility requirements, FAA certification and airworthiness regulations, and AC 145 Repair Station requirements.
  • Ability to work onsite in Mineral Wells, Texas, and access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • FAA Inspection Authorization.
  • Pilot’s license.
  • Experience with aircraft certification projects, conformity inspections, autopilot systems, and EFIS installations.
  • Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment.
