Field Service Technician Level II (Electrical Power Distribution)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; occasional travel of up to 75% to regional field offices and vendor sites may be required.

What you will do

• Perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components, including circuit breakers, bus bars, subpanels, power cabling, and control wiring.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions for moderately complex technical issues.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment while documenting service activities, parts usage, and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, Project Managers, engineering, manufacturing, and internal support teams.
• Provide guidance, shadowing, and on-the-job support to Level I technicians as needed.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning is required.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and power distribution systems, including switchgear, UPS systems, generators, or PDUs.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make field decisions, and escalate issues appropriately.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, vocational training, military experience, or equivalent experience in power distribution systems.
• 1–3 years of related electrical, mechanical, technical, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, or field service experience.
