Supply Chain Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the Torrance, California facility in the Los Angeles area; travel to suppliers may be required up to 40%.

Salary: $115,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define strategic supply chain roadmaps for commodities including machined components, electromechanical systems, shielding, thermal management, turbomachinery, and fuel.
• Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop suppliers for prototyping and full-rate production.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers on drawings, design for manufacturability, and production readiness.
• Coordinate supplier quality requirements, documentation, nonconformance resolution, and supply chain procedures.
• Lead make-versus-buy decisions and create should-cost analyses for supplier evaluation and commercial negotiations.
• Develop performance metrics, manage critical-path items, and secure hardware for engineering and testing milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field plus 3+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of relevant experience without the degree requirement.
• Experience in design or manufacturing engineering, supplier development, supplier quality, or supply chain management.
• Experience with supply chain systems, including MRP and ERP.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary to support critical milestones.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorization.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain management or manufacturing for complex systems and assemblies.
• Experience in aerospace and defense, automotive, semiconductor, or energy industries.
• Experience managing diverse commodities and suppliers across planning, procurement, supplier development, supplier quality, and logistics.
• Successful experience in a startup environment or similar setting.
