Senior Software Engineer (Healthcare)

Company

Development is focused on Chartspan's HIPAA-regulated Impact RPM platform for patient enrollment, health data processing, EHR integrations, and messaging workflows.

What you will do

• Own features and bug fixes end-to-end, including design, implementation, code review, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct short design and research spikes for ambiguous or underspecified requirements.
• Make pragmatic trade-off decisions within existing schemas, production behavior, and HIPAA requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues across service boundaries and contribute to incremental improvements instead of unnecessary rewrites.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while evaluating and validating their output.
• Contribute to React frontend fixes and small features, collaborating with product owners, engineers, and UX designers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Working proficiency in Go or a comparable statically typed backend language, with the ability to ramp up quickly in Go.
• Ability to read and contribute to Kotlin/Java codebases using Spring.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including raw SQL, and production experience with Kafka or another streaming/event platform.
• Experience with a major cloud provider, preferably AWS, and familiarity with React for full-stack contributions.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, plus a record of shipping complex technical projects in an agile environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with DynamoDB.
• Experience working in a HIPAA or otherwise regulated data environment.
