Associate Design Engineer

Location: Onsite in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. Non-local candidates are expected to relocate.

Salary: $71,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience. An annual corporate bonus is also available. Candidates with more than three years of experience may be considered for Design Engineer salaries starting at $80,000 and reaching up to $120,000.

What you will do

• Design and develop high-quality front drivetrain components for bicycles.
• Contribute to new product launches and achieve project design goals.
• Document design specifications using standard engineering practices.
• Apply design analysis methods to mitigate product and project risks.
• Collaborate with engineers, factories, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Provide input on manufacturing processes and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Required CAD experience; Creo Parametric is preferred.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes including forging, CNC machining, injection molding, and stamping.
• Familiarity with statistics, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Luis Obispo, California; non-local candidates must relocate.

Nice to have

• Understanding of electromechanical and mechatronics principles.
• More than three years of design engineering experience for consideration at the Design Engineer level.
